My corner of the oval

… thoughts from a Kiwi cricket fan

Basin Update

on October 3, 2012

Last month, I took a wander through the iconic Basin Reserve to check out the renovations that were taking place there:  https://kiwijem.wordpress.com/2012/09/14/flushing-out-the-basin/

And yesterday, I thought that I would see how things were looking for the summer cricket season ahead …

Looking greener!

I am pleased to report that things are definitely looking a lot greener out in the middle, and actually, the lush green outfield that was is slowly being grown back to it’s former, and hopefully better, glory 🙂

The grass is growing again!

The grass definitely isn’t ready for sharp cricket spikes quite yet … but it looks like everything is still on track to get our favourite cricket ground operational again.

RA Vance Stand overseeing the work!

And just to add to the picture, the Wellington Firebirds team were having a net session, preparing for the season ahead also – summer is definitely coming!!!
